CALDWELL ISD HAS $100,000 BUYOUT FOR SUPERINTENDENT

Although Caldwell School Board President Dan Harris called Supt. Dr. Janet Cummings efforts at the district ‘conscientious and diligent’  he and the rest of the Board agreed to a nearly $100,000 buyout of her contract last week.

Dr. Cummings had been the Caldwell ISD Superintendent for the past four years and before that she had been the principal at the elementary school and curriculum coordinator.

She had been the subject of several executive sessions since November.  After a 23 minute executive session recently, the Board agreed to buyout the remaining two years on Cummings contract, amounting to $99,760.  She will step down on August 31st

Harris said Dr. Cummings had many successes in her tenure with the district but it was time to ‘make a transition.’
