CALDWELL TO HOST “SCARE ON THE SQUARE – TRUNK OR TREAT 2020” HALLOWEEN NIGHT

A night of frights is coming to downtown Caldwell with the Burleson County Chamber of Commerce’s “Scare on the Square – Trunk or Treat 2020.”

The annual Halloween celebration, set from 5 to 8 p.m. next Saturday night, will take on a different look from previous years due to COVID-19, but still promises to provide a fun, family-friendly night for trick-or-treaters.

Businesses, organizations and families are invited to decorate their vehicles, trunks, and themselves.  Vehicles will be lined up like a car show on the square, and children will be able trick-or-treat down all the trunks.  Several downtown businesses will also have special trick-or-treat stations.

Cars will be spaced out to promote social distancing, and parents and children are asked to wear masks.  Hand sanitizer will be made available.  While the Boo House, train rides or bounce houses will not be offered, there will still be the annual costume and pumpkin carving contests.

The event is open to the public and free for children to trick-or-treat.  The cost is $25 to register a vehicle for the trunk-or-treat.  Vehicles must be decorated with a Halloween theme, and candy must be wrapped in sealed manufacturer’s wrapping.  No handmade items will be allowed.

Registration forms can be downloaded from www.burlesoncountytx.com, and are due to the Chamber by tomorrow (Friday).
