CHANGES ANNOUNCED FOR 2018 KOLACHE FESTIVAL

Changes have been announced for this year’s 33rd Annual Kolache Festival in Caldwell, slated for September.

Festival chairwoman Janice Easter says they’ve recruited a lot of new people to help get a younger crowd interested in the festival.

Easter says organizers feel the festival has become stagnant and are looking to breathe some new life into it.

Some of the new ideas include: a new wine tent, a glamorous camping area, and an upgraded kolache eating contest.

Easter said she also wants more focus on the local businesses, not just the one-day vendors.

There will still be the Adventureland for the kids, the car show, and the baking and quilt shows.

The city expects to see about twenty thousand people at the one day event.

Easter says she hopes the changes will draw in new people and patrons who haven't been in the last couple of years.
