CHARGES FILED IN HEARNE DOUBLE-HOMICIDE

  

A Hearne man has been charged with two counts of murder and two counts of arson in a double homicide from this past January.

45-year old William Alex Davenport is accused of killing Wanda Vinton and her 15-year old daughter Cheyanne.  The bodies of the two were found in a burned out trailer the two had just moved into.

Davenport had been previously charged with aggravated assault after police arrested him following a domestic disturbance at the victims' home.

Shortly after that disturbance the Vinton's home went up in flames.

Authorities reported that firefighters struggled to get inside the home to rescue the two, because the door had been padlocked from the inside.

Davenport’s bond had been set at $1.2-million at the Brazos County Jail with a hold for parole violation.
