In an abrupt about-face, the man who just this past week took the Brenham Cubs baseball coaching position, has changed his mind.
Coach Chis Griffin has confirmed that he has decided against accepting the job and will be remaining at Klein Collins.
In a statement to KWHI, Monday morning, Griffin said he feels bad about the decision. “It is 100% my fault for this to turn out this way.”
“What it boils down to, my family and I could not pull the trigger on moving our family from a home we have lived in for our 15 years together.”
“It was a very painful decision and I know it affected a lot of people. I am truly sorry for this decision, especially Coach (Elliot) Allen and all the people who put their faith in me. But I think it is best for my family.”
Coach Griffin had been introduced Wednesday evening at a reception at Brenham High School, as the successor to Coach Lanny Williams, who is now the head coach at Cedar Park.
The search will now resume for the next head coach of Brenham Cubs baseball.
