CITY COUNCIL MAKES NAME CHANGE IN TAX PHASE IN AGREEMENT
The property tax phase for Tempur-Sealy came before the Brenham City Council once again at today’s(Thursday’s) meeting.
Clint Kolby, the project manager for the Economic Development Foundation said there was a minor name change in the corporation and the name on the agreement needed to be changed under the Texas Enterprise Zone Program.
The tax phase in agreement was issued in January after Tempurpedic merged with Sealy International. Since then there has been a name change to Sealy International, Incorporated. Tempur Sealy is expected to expand its Brenham operation. City Attorney Carey Bovey noted that even the slightest change in the agreement needed to be made for it to be completely legal.
