CITY COUNCIL TAKES FINAL ACTION ON ANNEXATIONS

  

The Brenham City Council took the final action to annex some 400 acres of land adjacent to the city limits at today’s (Thursday’s) meeting.

The annexations are all relatively low in population but some people do have residences in that area.

Dan Mason has property near Westwood Lane and 290.  He has repeatedly appeared before the city council expressing his opposition to annexation of his land and told the council today (Thursday) he did not know why the city wanted his land.

Mason said they only want to use the property for agricultural purposes and believes the annexation will restrict his property use.

The city annexed  281 acres along state highway 36 north and Dixie Street, land along highway 290 near the Cloverleaf, the western right of way of highway 36 to close to Anderson Lane and tracts between FM 389 and Industrial Boulevard.
