CITY COUNCIL TO DISCUS NEW PATROL CARS FOR P.D.

New vehicles for the Brenham Police Department are on the agenda for the Brenham City Council meeting, Thursday afternoon.

The department is seeking approval by the council to go ahead with ordering four patrol cars and two unmarked vehicles that have already been included in the budget.

The marked vehicles will be purchased off the state contract for just over $93-thousand.

The two unmarked vehicles will be bid out—they’re expected to run around $48-thousand.

Also on Tuesday’s agenda:

The council is expected to approve the second reading to place a stop sign on South Day Street and the intersection of Charles Lewis St.

The council will also hear their yearly update the Tax Phase-In Compliance Review Committee.  The committee annually reviews the current tax phase-in recipients to insure the criteria are being met.

This year the committee will review eight companies for compliance.

The council will also get the foruth quarter report from the Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau.

The council meets at 1:00 Thursday afternoon in the council chambers of City Hall on West Vulcan St.
