CITY COUNCIL TO LOOK AT ANNEXATION AGAIN

It will be time to look at the books when the Brenham City Council meets Thursday at city hall.

The City Council is expected to accept the audit from Seidel, Schroder, and Company for the last fiscal year.

Once again the city is looking at expanding its borders as they take up annexing 403 acres into the city limits.  The council will also approve development agreements to various land owners having property with agricultural exemptions. Brenham City Manager Terry Roberts says possible annexations have been under discussion at recent workshops and they still have plenty of work to do before any land is annexed..

The annexations, should they happen would be along highway 36 south.  Roberts says it would not significantly increase the city’s population.

Blue Bell Creameries wants to install a 20,000 gallon above ground fuel storage tank and they need the City Council’s approval to do that. Roberts says Blue Bell will use this to fuel the delivery of their ice cream across the nation.  That is one of the items on the Thursday agenda.

The City Council will also get the annual report from the Police and Fire Departments.

The Brenham City Council is meeting Thursday at one at city hall.
