CITY EYES ARCHITECTURAL FIRM FOR ANIMAL SHELTER

Brenham City Manager Terry Roberts says they have received some good proposals for architects for the new animal shelter but one architectural firm, Edwards and Associates has the eye of city staffers and the City Council.

Roberts says the Council will be giving a close eye to the architectural firm when they meet this (Thursday) afternoon, to possibly decide who will design the Pet Adoption and Care Center and Animal Care Facility.

The Brenham City Council agreed to place the new 8000 square foot shelter next to the police station at their last meeting.

Roberts notes that the city will have total control and financing of the animal shelter under the new comprehensive exchange of services between the city and Washington County.  Roberts says the shelter will be built with funds from the city and with fundraising efforts.

The old city animal shelter has outlived usefulness and the city needs a new one.

The Brenham City Council meets today(Thursday) at one at city hall.
