CITY OF BRENHAM ANNOUNCES “SANTA’S TOUR THROUGH TOWN”

Community Services Specialist Crystal Locke presents the details of "Santa Claus' Tour Through Town," scheduled for December 13-16 in neighborhoods throughout the city.

For Brenham residents, Santa Claus is still coming to town; he’s just taking a different route.

At Thursday’s Brenham City Council meeting, Community Services Specialist Crystal Locke announced the details of “Santa’s Tour Through Town.”  December 13-16 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Santa Claus will ride through neighborhoods and multi-residential areas on a fire truck, taking a different route each day.

Locke said while this event may not replace the cancelled Christmas parade that was scheduled for this weekend, the city hopes it will bring joy to children and their families during this much-different holiday season.

Locke said there will also be special treats available to pick up at three separate locations the week of Santa’s rides through Brenham.

Locke said Santa will work with the police and fire departments to get through as many neighborhoods as possible.  This weekend, the fire department will take each of the routes to ensure the fire truck can make its way through them with no issues.

The routes presented at the meeting, which can be seen here, are subject to change.  The final routes will be released Monday, and will be posted online at http://jingle.cityofbrenham.org and on the Santa’s Coming Through Town event page on Facebook.
