CITY OF BRENHAM RECOGNIZED FOR FINANCIAL REPORTING FOR 11 YEARS RUNNING

The City of Brenham has received recognition for financial reporting excellence for the 11th consecutive year.

Chief Financial Officer Carolyn Miller displays the special recognition given to the City of Brenham for financial reporting excellence.

At Thursday’s Brenham City Council meeting, Chief Financial Officer Carolyn Miller announced the city had been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting, for its annual report ending in September of 2018.  This is the 11th year in a row the city has received the award.

Miller said the city’s finance team, under the direction of Controller Stacy Hardy, “works diligently and professionally throughout the year”, and their efforts show in the annual financial report.

The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA), distributor of the award, says the certificate is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting.  The GFOA says the award “represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management”.
