A police statement also says the home had "unsafe and unsanitary conditions" and that the children were left intentionally alone.

Officers responding to a call about a child abandoned found the five just before midnight Saturday.

Pineda and Gaona are both charged with felony abandoning or endangering a child under the age of 15.  A conviction could result in a sentence of up to two years plus a fine of $10,000.

College Station police say the case remains under investigation.

  1. What is wrong with people? Why did these two women think that leaving the kids by themselves was ok? I just don’t get society today?
