COMMISSIONERS/CONSTABLE CANDIDATES SPEAK ON PROBLEMS IN WASHINGTON CO.

  

Republican candidates for Washington County Commissioner for Precinct-One: Incumbent Zeb Heckmann; Don Koester, and Marcia Shelton along with Republican candidate for Constable for Precinct-Four: Lee Auguston participated in the political forum at a Brenham National Bank tonight (Thursday).

When asked by KWHI what the candidates believed was the greatest problem facing Washington County, Shelton spoke of the lack of communication.

Koester spoke on the importance of communication between the commissioners and the citizens of the county. Both candidates believe that communication is an important key to success.

Heckmann answered with the growth of Washington County, saying that the county is simply growing and the county is need to accommodate to the change.

Auguston believes that drug traffic is a major problem in Washington County. He says that as Constable for Precinct-Four, his main focus would be to get drugs off of the streets.

Democrat candidate for County Commissioner for Precinct-One, Lewis Houser and Republican candidate for Constable for Precinct-Four: Incumbent, Mark Kramer were not able to attend.
