Cornyn took a tour Thursday of Blinn’s W.J. “Bill” Rankin Agricultural Complex.

Cornyn said the faculty and leadership at Blinn College are doing—what he calls, “remarkable work preparing students and encouraging them to pursue their four-year degrees

During his visit, Cornyn spoke to faculty and students about Blinn’s nationally-recognized Agricultural Sciences Program, which enrolls approximately 800 students –roughly four times the size of any other two-year agricultural program in the state.

Cornyn says the state’s community colleges, “play a key role in teaching skills for practical life application and good jobs, and Blinn College is an important place for students to begin their college career and transfer to a place like Texas A&M,” `

Cornyn serves on the Finance and Judiciary Committees and is the top Republican on the Judiciary Committee’s Immigration, Refugees and Border Security subcommittee. He served previously as Texas attorney general, Texas Supreme Court justice and Bexar County district judge.Blinn Cornyn photo
