COUNTERFEIT CASH AND MARIJUANA FOUND IN TRAFFIC STOP
A large amount of counterfeit $100 bills and a small amount of marijuana were discovered in a late night traffic stop Wednesday.
Brenham police officer David Dudenhoeffer stopped a black Ford Fusion in the 300 block of North Park because the brake lights were out.
Once the officer got to the car he could smell burning marijuana. That prompted a search that found a package filled with counterfeit $100 bills. Another package had several legitimate $100 bills. The search also found a misdemeanor amount of marijuana.
Twenty-six year old Elroy Tompkins of Hempstead was arrested for forgery and the misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
