COUNTY COMMISSIONERS TO HEAR ANNUAL REPORTS

The Washington County Commissioners will hear a series of annual reports during their meeting on Tuesday.

The District Clerk and the County Clerk will each present their 2016 annual report. In addition, the commissioners will hear the Washington County Sheriff’s Racial Profiling Report. The Texas Commission on Law Enforcement requires sheriff's offices to compile a racial profiling report each year. The report is presented to the county commissioners court annually.

The commissioners are also expected to accept a public assistance sub-grant for countywide debris removal. Washington County Judge John Brieden says this is another step in being reimbursed for the damage caused by the May flooding.

In other business the commissioners will:

  • Discuss granting the county auditor the authority to conduct an audit of the Sheriff’s Forfeiture of Assets, which is a routine audit conducted annually
  • Discuss a formal notice for a utility installation of a water tap at 9655 Sun Oil Road
  • Consider approving the revised Washington County Investment Policy
  • Discuss the approval of two nominations to the Washington County Child Welfare Board
