COURTHOUSE ROOF REPLACEMENT LEADS AUGUST BUILDING PERMITS

  

Work on the Washington County Courthouse roof led a relatively light month of permits issued by the City of Brenham in August.

Last month’s largest permit was issued to the county for the courthouse roof replacement project, contracted to DK Haney Roofing, Inc.  The permit was issued for $277,683.

Commissioners in June approved a contract with DK Haney Roofing for the project, which is covered by insurance.  Work on the courthouse roof started at the beginning of August.

August’s second largest permit was issued to Kenjura Tile, Inc. for $180,000.  The company is remodeling an existing building at its location at 102 East Blue Bell Road into a conference center.

The city issued 27 permits in August, worth $1,299,103. Last August saw 25 permits for $2,115,353.

A total of seven new residences were permitted in August, worth $473,980.  Through 2019 so far, the city has issued permits for 44 new residences, for $5,819,036.

So far this year, 196 permits have been issued for $34,308,275.  At this point last year, the city had issued 187 permits, worth $28,254,394.
