CUBETTE SOCCER WINS, HEADS TO BI-DISTRICT PLAYOFFS

The Brenham Cubettes defeated Magnolia West Friday night 3-1. The game was tied 0-0 at halftime. However, 9 minutes into the second half Alexse Orozco dropped a pass back to Fatima Aguado who hit a high shot from 25 yards out into the upper corner of the goal. Then 6 minutes later Alexse played a ball to Chloe Tanner who beat a defender and had a great finish to the far post to put the Cubettes up 2-0. With 5 minutes to go Fatima had a long throw in that went off a defender’s head and into the goal to make the Cubettes go up 3-0. Brenham gave up a goal with 3 minutes to play. Ashlyn Wells had 9 saves on the night. The win moves the Cubettes on to the playoffs.
