CUBETTES DOMINATE DRIPPING SPRINGS
The Brenham Cubettes (2-1) erased an 11-point first-quarter deficit with a 19-4 second-quarter run, and cruised to a 59-31 win over Dripping Springs in the Lady Tigers’ own tournament.
Dripping Springs jumped out to a 15-4 lead after the first quarter, but 6’ 8” post Teaira McCowan lad a huge second quarter and a 23-19 half time lead.
The Cubette kept up the pressure, outscoring the Lady Tigers, 36-12 in the second half, on their way to the 28-point win.
McCowan finished with a monster night, scoring 30 points and pulling down 24 rebounds, while blocking four shots.
Alicia Jackson and Breana Jerkins each added seven points.
The Cubettes face A&M Consolidated in bracket play Saturday morning.
