CUBETTES PICK UP TWO WINS, SATURDAY AT COLUMBUS

The Brenham Cubettes (6-3) closed out the Columbus Volleyball Tournament with a pair of wins, Saturday.

The Cubettes, who were 3-3 over the first two days of the tourney, finished up with wins over West Victoria and Sealy.

In the opener, the Cubettes swept West Victoria, 2-0 (25-23, 25-18).

Hadley Webb had seven kills, while Avery Schroeder had 14 digs.  Kaci Pecht dished out 8 assists and Kelly Jurden added seven assists.

In the final game, the Cubettes edged Sealy, 2-1 (25-17, 21-25, 25-23).

Kenna Mikolajczak led the team with 15 kills, while Webb had 12 kills and 17 digs.  Jordan Wellman had a game-high 34 digs, while Jordyn Williams made three blocks.  Jurden had 17 assists and Pect made 12 assists.

The Cubettes will hit the road Tuesday, for a tri-match with Columbus and Bryan in Bryan.
