CUBETTES ROLL TO DISTRICT WIN

The Brenham Cubettes scored 12 times in the second inning, en route to an 18-1 district win over Spring Woods, Tuesday night at Alumni Field.

The Cubettes (11-6/5-2) jumped out to an early 6-0 lead after the first inning, then pounded out 11 hits and took advantage of four Lady Tiger errors in the 12-run second inning.

Colleen Bentke (8-4) went the first three innings to pick up the win.  Macie Becker pitched the final two shutout innings.

Autumn Pauler led the 18-hit offensive attack, going 3-for-3 with three runs scored and three runs batted in.

Annie Cangelosi had two hits, scored a run and drove in three.

Six other Cubettes had multiple hit games: Kelly Jurden, Maddie Weatherly, Reagan Kwiatkowski, Sloan Wellmann, Bentke and Becker.

The Cubettes end the first half of 19/5A play tied for second, one game in back of first-place Magnolia West.

Brenham will host Tomball Memorial Thursday night at 6:45 at Alumni Field, kicking off the second half of the district schedule.
