CUBS FOOTBALL BACK AT HOME vs. ELGIN

The Brenham Cubs will try to continue their run in District 13/5A play tonight, when they host Elgin.

The Cubs (5-1/3-0) are coming off a 41-13 win over Marble Falls last week, while the Wildcats (2-4/1-2) lost to Pflugerville Wess, 40-24.

Cubs’ head coach Eliot Allen says his team cannot take Elgin’s record for granted…

The Wildcats have used a big offensive line to bolster a tough running game, which has averaged nearly seven yards per carry and totaled over 1500 yards and scored 18 touchdowns.  Their passing game has averaged less than 100 yards per game, with six touchdowns and five interceptions.

The Cubs have been balanced on offense, throwing for over 1300 yards (217 YPG) and rushing for 1200 yards (200 YPG).

Coach Allen says for the Cubs to continue to improve, they have got to do a better job of execution…

Kickoff at Cubs Stadium is set for 7:00.  The game can be heard live on AM-1280 KWHI, FM 101.7 and www.kwhi.com.
