The 38th Annual Small Town Christmas features a three-day slate of holiday activities beginning on Friday and ending Sunday.

The celebration starts Friday at 6 p.m. with the lighted Christmas parade through downtown, featuring Santa Claus and this year’s Small Town Christmas Pageant Little Mr. and Miss: Logan Hoff and Randi Rathbone.  There will also be the lighting of the courthouse tree by Bellville’s first responders.

Activities at the Mini-Park will follow at 6:30 p.m., including a real snow slide, an inflated activity area with a swing and obstacle course, petting zoo, pony rides, and non-profit food and drink vendors at the Jim Bishop Pavilion at Chesley Park.

At 7:30 p.m., guests are invited to bring blankets and chairs to the Mini-Park for a showing of the movie “Elf.”  Families can also take pictures with Santa in the Mini-Park gazebo, and a street dance with the Red Bulls will round out the evening at 8 p.m.

On Saturday, Newman’s Bakery will host breakfast with Santa from 8 to 11 a.m.  Holiday shopping will take place from 9 a.m. to noon with the Farmer’s Market under the Jim Bishop Pavilion, and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with the Market Day on the courthouse square.  Dozens of vendors will be on hand, along with food trucks, performances, and music.

To round out the weekend, St. John’s Lutheran Retreat Center, located at 4740 Highway 36 North in Bellville, will host a drive-thru living nativity Saturday and Sunday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
