EARLY VOTING FOR NOVEMBER ELECTION BEGINS MONDAY

  

Early voting for the general election on November 6th will soon begin.

People in Washington County can begin submitting their votes for local and statewide candidates beginning Monday, October 22nd at the Courthouse Annex, across from the Courthouse.  Early voting ends November 2nd.

Early voting will take place: Monday through Friday, October 22-26, and October 31st through November 2nd from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; on Saturday, October 27th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and Sunday, October 28th from noon to 3 p.m.  There will be extended hours on October 29th and 30th, running from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Notable races locally include:

  • District 13 State Representative, between Republican incumbent Ben Leman and Democrat challenger Cecil Webster.
  • Washington County Commissioner Precinct Two, between Republican Candice Bullock and Democrat Ira Joe Newsome.

Washington County Clerk Beth Rothermel says she is expecting a large turnout, as she believes the level of interest in this year’s election is “akin to a presidential election”.
