EARLY VOTING NUMBERS WEDNESDAY SLIGHTLY DOWN FROM TUESDAY

The second day of early voting for the March primaries saw a slight dip from Tuesday.

According to Washington County Clerk Beth Rothermel, Wednesday saw 197 ballots cast for the Republican primary and 52 ballots for the Democratic primary, totaling 249 in-person early voters.  Tuesday drew 270 early voters.

The two-day total for both primaries together is 519 early voters.

Rothermel said Wednesday’s drop could be due to the inclement weather.  Weather forecasts indicate that trend could continue today (Thursday).

Early voting continues today and tomorrow (Friday) from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 3 p.m.  The final day of early voting is Friday, February 28th, and the primary elections are on March 3rd.
