EIGHT SENTENCED IN DISTRICT COURT

  

Washington County District Attorney Julie Renken reports the eight people pled guilty to felony offences in District Court this week and were sentenced to terms ranging from probation to prison terms.

Malinda Grace Garrett, age 26 of Brenham had her probation revoked from a 2010 burglary of a habitation conviction and was sentenced to 4 years in prison, a $414 fine, court costs and $1672 in restitution.

Kevin Benford, age 52 of Burton was sentenced to 3 years in prison and ordered to pay $1503 in restitution for organized retail theft between 1500 and 20,000 dollars in April of 2014.

Doyle Keith Brown Jr., age 26 of Brenham  was sentenced to 5 years deferred adjudication, a $1500 fine, court costs, and drug and alcohol treatment for 2 cases of possession of a controlled substance between 1 to 4 grams in May of 2014.

Kerston Rochelle Williams, age 36 of Industry was sentenced to 5 years deferred adjudication, $1500 fine, court costs, 200 hours of community service, and drug and alcohol treatment for possession of a controlled substance and tampering with evidence from January of 2014.

Samantha Louise Kenny, age 36 of Brenham was sentenced to 3 years deferred adjudication, $750 fine, court costs, 150 hours community service, drug and alcohol treatment, and batterer’s intervention and parenting classes for a child negligence / endangerment case..  She was arrested with two other adults at the Regency Inn in Brenham in April of last year by a Washington County Sheriff’s Deputy.  The deputy found the three adults, one infant and three children, and eight cats all living in what he called “deplorable conditions”.

Rachel Pfeffer, age 42 of Bellville was sentenced to 3 years deferred adjudication, $750 fine, court costs, 140 hours community service, and drug and alcohol treatment for a possession of a controlled substance case.  Pfeffer was employed by the Hempstead School District as a special needs teacher until her arrest in March of this year.

Andrea Shamon Harris, age 28 of Brenham was sentenced to 3 years deferred adjudication, $1500 fine, court costs, 120 hours community service, and ordered to have no contact with the victim or the co-defendant for a burglary of a building case from August of 2014.

And, Patrick Wallace, age 40 of Bellville was sentenced to 3 years deferred adjudication, court costs, $21,143 in restitution, and 200 hours community service for a credit card abuse case from March of 2010.
