Austin County Fair Tag-in
June 5 - June 6
The Austin County Fair tag in for Cattle was set to take place on May 8 & 9, 2020, but due to the uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak and potential new directive from Governor Abbott related to social distancing, the event will be postponed. The new date for Cattle Tag In will be June 5 & 6, at Four County Livestock Auction in Industry.
Tag in for the Commercial Pen of Heifers Show will take place on Friday, June 5, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Heifers entered in the Commercial Pen of Heifers Show must be no older than 30 months at the time of the show. All heifers entered in the Commercial Pen of Heifers Show must be polled or dehorned, Brucellosis vaccinated and tested per Texas Animal Health Commission regulations at tag-in. Family tagging will be allowed. This is interpreted as immediate family members living in the same household. There will be a $15.00 per head tag in fee and a $55.00 validation fee per pen at tag-in.
Tag in for Halter Heifers and Steers will take place on Saturday, June 6, from 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Halter Heifers will be tattooed with an identification number at time of tagging, unless they already have a permanent identification number tattooed in their ear or branded on their hide. All Halter Heifers must weigh at least 500 pounds at tag-in. Market Steers will be identified by nose print at time of tagging. Halter Heifers and Market Steers must be owned by the exhibitor at time of tagging. There will be a $15.00 charge for each animal tagged. Family tagging is allowed. This will be interpreted as immediate family living in the same household. Corrections to tag-in information must be made by Saturday, June 30th.
