SUMMARY:The Lone Star Circle of Life Bike Tour Rides into Brenham
DESCRIPTION:The Lone Star Circle of Life Bike Tour rides into Brenham \nBrenham\, Texas - The Lone Star Circle of Life Bike Tour was organized to raise awareness of the critical need for donations of blood\, marrow or stem cell\, organs and tissue. \nTwelve volunteer cyclists travel the state\, stopping in Texas cities along the way\, to educate Texas about the need for donation. The life of each rider has been touched by donation. Some are donors themselves. Others are recipients\, family members of donors or recipients\, or supporters of donation. Each year\, the tour travels through different Texas cities\, to share personal donation stories and feature the stories of local honorees at each stop of the tour. This year\, the tour begins in Waco and ends in Temple\, with stops in Mexia\, Jacksonville\, Nacogdoches\, Trinity\, Huntsville\, Brenham\, and Austin. \nAt 3 p.m. on Wednesday\, May 11\, the tour will arrive at Fireman’s Park in Brenham. Brenham resident\, Tracy Hammac will be in attendance\, to honor his daughter\, Molly. Molly became a tissue donor in 2018 and changed the lives of 31 recipients. \n"Molly was very vocal about the need for donation to enhance other’s lives. We have had the privilege of welcoming into our lives\, one of the recipients who benefitted from Molly’s act of donation and consider ourselves fortunate to have met her. We are blessed to have a daughter that has helped so many reclaim and enjoy life\, all due to the miracle of donation. She’s our little blond-haired hero and an inspiration to all."\, said Tracy. \nOver 10\,000 Texans currently await a life-saving organ transplant. Thousands more will benefit from the donation of blood\, bone marrow and stem cells\, and tissue grafts. The Donate Life Texas Registry is the official registry for organ\, eye\, and tissue donation in Texas. Since donation impacts the entire community\, the entire Brenham community is encouraged to register their intent to become donors on the Donate Life Texas Registry\, and to meet the riders at Fireman’s Park\, to encourage and support them as they continue their ride for life across Texas.
