DESCRIPTION:A new exhibit focused on the history of Juneteenth in Washington County opens on Saturday at the Brenham Heritage Museum’s Bus Depot Gallery.  Celebrate! A View of Juneteenth Traditions and Customs shows the wide variety of ways that Juneteenth has been observed in Washington County since the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in Texas in June 1865.  Specific topics include parades\, coronations\, rodeos\, concerts and entertainment\, picnics\, sporting events and reunions.  The exhibit will run through at least the end of July.\n\nTo learn more\, or to donate to the museum\, visit www.brenhamheritagemuseum.org.

SUMMARY:Amateur Radio Operators to Participate in National Ham Radio Exercise
DESCRIPTION:Washington County Amateur Radio Club will be participating in a national ham radio exercise on Saturday\, June 25th and Sunday\, June 26th.  Organized by the Amateur Radio Relay League (AARL)\, Field Day is the largest all-volunteer radio operators to establish temporary ham radio station\, test emergency communications equipment\, and demonstrate their skills and service.  Radio signals\, which travel beyond geographical borders\, bring people together to serve their communities through public service and emergency communications.  Field Day isn’t just for Amateur Radio operators!  Anyone interested in learning more about ham radio is invited to attend.  All visitors must pre-register by contacting the club on Facebook or through the club’s website at https://www.w5aum.org.  License exams will be offered throughout the event.
