SUMMARY:Texas Arts and Music Festival
DESCRIPTION:Texas Arts and Music Festival will feature Art Dual \nThe Texas Arts and Music Festival will be held in downtown Brenham\, TX. on October 15 and 16 and will feature an Art Dual where artists will compete against one another for a cash prize.  Luis Angulo of Something Cool Studios in Austin\, TX. will be busing in artists from all over the state to participate. Artists will be voted on by festival attendees in a round robin style tournament. Each artist will be painting an 8 by 8 foot size canvas\, and the collection on display will be updated by the hour.  “The art dual brings in a fun element of live street art where visitors can participate and determine which artist moves forward to the next round\,” said Brooke Trahan\, Texas Arts and Music Festival Art Director.  “New artists go head to head every hour and create stunning artworks live while interacting with the audience. It is something you have to enjoy live and will not want to miss.”  The finalist will compete and determine a winner just before the main stage music starts. Featured bands on Saturday\, October 15 include Payton Howie and the Brodie Lane Band and on Sunday\, October 16 rising star\, Kane Alvarado\, with his blues and rock set from noon to 1pm.  Texas Arts and Music Festival is a local non-profit organization dedicated to providing a first class event for art and music lovers\, and raising money for local art programs. The festival has provided support to art programs in Brenham\, Burton\, and Sealy.

DESCRIPTION:The Zythological Society of North America\, Texas Chapter will be hosting their innagural Brewstep 0.1K – Saunter for a Cause\, on Saturday\, October 15th  from 1:00-4:00 p.m.  The Brewstep 0.1K is a whopping 328 feet that will be filled with breweries\, rest stops\, picture opportunities\, and tons of fun\, while raising money for The Blessing Box Project. \nThe Blessing Box Project makes special care packages for women who have had mastectomies to be able to comfortably use seat belts while they recover from their surgeries.  Proceeds from this event will go towards helping supply The Blessing Box Project with supplies and other costs to make and give out these free packages. \nRegistration to the event will be $40 and will include an event T-shirt\, 0.1K vehicle sticker\, souvenier tasting glass\, wrist band to sample beer\, and swag bag. Early registration will guarantee a T-shirt\, however late registration will be first come first served on limited t-shirts. The deadline for early registration will end on October 1st.  You can register online at www.zythological.com. Must be 21 with ID to receive a wrist band. \nBreweries participating include St. Arnold Brewing\, Brazos Valley Brewing\, Galveston Island Brewing\, Pint House Brewing\, Karbach Brewing\, Saloon Door Brewery\, Hound Song Brewing\, NOLA Brewing\, Independence Brewery\, Eldersons Brewery\, Sierra Nevada Brewery\, and more to come.
