DESCRIPTION:Washington County 4-H Horse Club is having a goat roping and are looking for sponsors! The horse club works hard to promote leadership and good core values in its members. The kids participate in horse judging\, public speaking\, horse quiz bowl\, hippology\, open arena nights\, leadership camp\, horsemanship and training clinics\, field days\, and so much more. The Club is trying to raise funds to buy some needed equipment\, pay for professional clinicians\, and cover entries and travel for team events.

SUMMARY:Washington County Aggie Mom's Scholarship Application Open
DESCRIPTION:Washington County Aggie Mom’s Scholarship application will opened on July 10. A copy of the application has been posted to the Washington County Aggie Moms’ club Facebook page.   \n  \nHere are the requirements:   \n1. Applicant must have received credit for 24 completed semester hours at Texas A&M University prior to this application being submitted. \n2. Applicant must be a Full-Time student at Texas A&M University at the time the application for the scholarship is submitted. \n3. Applicant must have permanent residency in Washington County\, Texas. \n4. Grade Point average must be a minimum of 2.5 at the time of application submission. \n5. Each recipient chosen to receive a scholarship must provide proof (i.e. bill statement or receipt of paid tuition or class schedule) that he/she is enrolled for the semester before the scholarship will be paid.  \n6. Attach an Unofficial Texas A&M Transcript to the application to support the credited 24 semester hours and the GPA as required.   \n7. Complete scholarship application.  \n  \nScholarship recipient is eligible to receive only one scholarship from Washington County A&M Mothers’ Club. \n  \nThe deadline for application submission is August 1\, 2023.  Scholarship recipients will be notified by email and/or text.  We will recognize our scholarship recipients at the Aggie Family Fun Night. Attendance is requested but not required.  Aggie Family Fun Night is Thursday\, August 10\, 2023\, at Fireman’s Park Pavilion.

SUMMARY:News from the Washington County Appraisal District
DESCRIPTION:The Washington County Tax Appraisal District will close to the public on Friday\, July 28th and will reopen on Monday\, August 14th.  The office closure is for a complete conversion of the appraisal and collections software and staff training on the new product. \nBurton ISD and the City of Burton have moved their tax collections to the WCAD\, making this office a one-stop-shop for all property tax needs.  The new software and website will add functionality and increase productivity.  \nWhile the office is closed\, payments can only be made by mail or through the WCAD website at www.washingtoncad.org.  Payments will not draft from owner’s bank accounts until after the office reopens on August 14th\, 2023.
