FAYETTE CO. K-9 LOBOS DISCOVERS $500,000 WORTH OF COCAINE

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of their K-9 Lobos, made another drug bust Tuesday discovering $500,000 worth of cocaine.

According to authorities, Sgt. Randy Thumann and Lobos stopped a Dodge Charger on Interstate 10 just after 1 p.m. for a traffic violation.

Sgt. Thumann became suspicious that the vehicle was involved in transporting illegal narcotics after speaking with the driver, 21-year-old Victor Menses of Del Rio.

According to Thumann, Menses’ travel plans did not make sense and his level of nervousness escalated when speaking about illegal drugs. Consent to search the vehicle was given at which time Thumann and Lobos located 5 kilos of cocaine with a street value of approximately $500,000.

The cocaine was hidden in the rear seats of the vehicle, under two small children that were secured in baby seats.

Menses was arrested for felony drug possession and taken to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center.
