FAYETTE COUNTY FIGHTS THREE GRASS FIRES ON THURSDAY

  

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office reports three grass fires that occurred on Thursday.

According to Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek, the Fayette County 911 received their first grass fire call at 2:11pmon Freyburg Hall Rd in the Freyburg area. The Schulenburg Fire Department was notified and responded to the scene.

The second fire was reported around 2:15pm on W Old Lockhart Road in the LaGrange area. The La Grange Fire Department was notified and responded to the scene, with assistance being requested from the Texas Forest Service with a dozier at this location.

The third fire was reported on Klimek Road in the Fayetteville area, and the Fayetteville Fire Department was notified and responded to the scene, with assistance from the Ellinger Fire Department. Access to several fires created problems due to the wet conditions.

At least seven fires have been reported to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Dispatch Office this week.

All fires were contained and extinguished, with no other damages reported.
