FAYETTE COUNTY INFANT DROWNS
A 7-month old Fayette County infant has died.
Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that shortly before noon, Monday, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office dispatch received a 9-1-1 call from a woman reporting her 7 month infant had slipped in a tub and drowned.
It was reported the baby was being transported by private vehicle to St. Mark’s medical center in LaGrange.
The Texas Department of Public safety stopped the vehicle and Trooper Robert Gulash performed CPR on the baby.
The infant was transported to St Marks Medical Center but was unable to be revived.
An autopsy was ordered by Justice of Peace Shelia Coufal.
This case is currently under investigation by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office and Texas Rangers.
