FAYETTE COUNTY K9 MAKES THIRD DRUG BUST IN A WEEK, SEIZING $1.5 MILLION IN COCAINE

Fayette County K9 Lobos has had a busy week making another drug bust Thursday- discovering $1.5 million worth of cocaine.

According to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, Sgt.  Randy Thumann and Lobos, stopped a Jeep Latitude on Interstate 10 at the 656 mile-marker at approximately 2:30 pm for a traffic violation.

After observing several criminal indicators from the driver and an abnormal level of nervousness during the roadside interview, Sgt. Thumann became suspicious that the vehicle may be involved in transporting illegal narcotics.

Thumann was given consent to search the vehicle at which time they located approximately 15 kilos of cocaine with an estimated street value of $ 1.5 million dollars.

The driver 27-year-old Francisco Javier Aguilar Jr., of Laredo, was arrested for Felony Drug Possession and transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center.
