FAYETTE COUNTY MONTHLY REPORT

  

Sheriff Keith Korenek reports activities of Fayette County Sheriff Deputies for the month of June 2015. Deputy Rick Bohlmann took a report of a missing firearm from a weekend residence in the Freyburg area. Bohlmann also took a report of mailbox damage off of FM 155 in the Holman area.

Deputy Ben Wilson responded to disturbance at a local business in the La Grange area. Through further investigation one subject was found to have a marijuana pipe on his person and he was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Wilson also responded to a residence off of Loop 543 in reference to a prowler. Wilson made the location and located an intoxicate person on the premises. The male was arrested and charged with public intoxication. Deputy Marc Bennett responded to the Kirtley area for a stolen vehicle report. A suspect was identified in the case and located in the City of Smithville. The suspect was arrested and the stolen vehicle was recovered.

Sergeant Ron Naumann received a report of a suicidal female that consumed a large amount of pills along with alcohol. She was later located and in need of medical attention. She was transported to an Austin Hospital. Deputy Perry Kram conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding on FM 154. The driver of the vehicle was arrested for driving while license invalid. Kram also stopped another vehicle for speeding on US Hwy 90 near Schulenburg. The driver of this vehicle was also arrested for driving while license invalid.

Investigator Robert Dryden responded to the area of George Road where stolen items were stashed from a local burglary. Dryden recovered the items and the case is currently under investigation. Dryden also responded to a disturbance off of Trinity School Road where a disturbance occurred and a female was assaulted by a male. The male was arrested for assault family violence. Sergeant Charles Jobb responded to the Schulenburg area to attempt to locate a suicidal female. Jobb located the female on Holub Road and she was evaluated by Mental Health Deputy Jeremy Castleberry. Jobb also responded to the area of Old Ellinger Road for reported gunfire. Jobb made the location and located two persons who were safely sighting in rifles.

Deputy David Smith received a report of a possible drunk driver on Interstate 10. Smith located the vehicle and a traffic stop was made. The driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated and a passenger was arrested for public intoxication. Smith also attempted to stop a vehicle traveling east on Interstate 10. A short pursuit ensued and then ended in a wooded area. The vehicle was found to be a stolen vehicle from the Houston area. Deputy Garrett Durrenberger made traffic stop on Country Club Drive. The driver of the vehicle was founded to have a suspended license and was arrested. Durrenberger also took a criminal mischief report where a vehicle parked at the Warda Post Office was damaged.

Deputy Darrell Maze responded to an animal complaint on Strixner Road. The complainant involved a dog running at large. Maze located the dog and took the animal back to the owner. The owner was spoken to about his liabilities concerning the dog. Maze also responded to property off of FM 2981 where another individual was not wanted on the property. The unwanted person was located and received a criminal trespass warning. Deputy Joe Martin responded to Trinity School Road in reference to a disturbance. A male subject was arrested for assault family violence.

Deputy Jeremy Castleberry responded to St. Mark’s Medical Center where a patient there was deemed mentally ill. Castleberry then transported the patient to a mental health facility. Deputy Otten responded to the Flatonia area for an alleged suicidal person. Otten located the person in question and he was found to be okay. He was released to a family friend. Otten also took a report of a missing elderly person off of FM 609. A Silver Alert was activated and the individual was located hours later. Deputy Ken Kretz made contact with a local man from the Schulenburg area that was wanted on a warrant for driving while intoxicated. The male was arrested and transported to jail.

Jail Administrator Edward Sawyer reports that Fayette County Correction Officers booked in 76 individuals for the month of June and transported 4 individuals to the Texas Department of Corrections Facilities to begin serving time for crimes committed in Fayette County.

Fayette County Deputies traveled 53,804 miles, made 14 felony and 16 misdemeanor arrests. A total of 497 calls were received by the Sheriff’s Office.
