FCCLA MEMBERS ATTEND REGIONAL MEETING

Brenham High School’s FCCLA members attended the FCCLA Leadership Meeting and STAR event competition recently in Galveston. Thirty-two Brenham chapter members participated in the leadership meeting. Of the thirteen individual and team STAR events entered, they received nine 1st place awards, three 2nd place awards and one 3rd place award. Two FCCLA members were also elected to Regional Officer positions.  Whitney Blalock and Hannah Damon were both elected as Region 4 Officers.  Whitney is the new Vice President of Public Relations and Hanna is the new Vice President of Membership.

FCCLA members attended leadership tracks which focused on Distracted Driving, Strengthening Families, and Striving for Health. The main speaker at the first general session was Patrick Perez whose message challenged members to set goals and make a difference in the world. The service learning project for the meeting was donating items for Galveston UTMB Department of Pediatrics. While at the meeting, members were given the opportunity to make cards for the hospital.
