FIVE BRENHAM ATHLETES SIGN EARLY
Four members of the Brenham Cubs baseball team and a Cubette softball player have committed to play in college next year.
At a National Early Signing ceremony at Brenham High School, Cubette pitcher/outfielder Coleen Bentke signed with Texas A&M Corpus-Christi; Cub pitcher Blake Wellmann with the University of Texas; catcher Ryan Newman with Texas State; and infielder/pitcher Sam McElreath and pitcher Rayne Richard committed to the Blinn Buccaneers.
Each is now getting ready for their senior season for Brenham before heading to college in the fall of 2015.
Family, friends, coaches and teammates gathered for the ceremony at the Brenham High School gymnasium Thursday morning.
