The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service of Washington County is preparing to host a training session for food service managers on proper food preparation and sanitation.

The Professional Food Manager Certification Training Program, called “Food Safety: It’s Our Business”, will be held February 10th and 11th at the Washington County Fairgrounds – VIP Building.

The training session will cover personal hygiene, how to use thermometers, how to store food safely, how to prepare and serve food properly, and how to keep food preparation areas clean and sanitized.

Participants can fulfill requirements for food manager certification if they pass the national certification exam offered at the end of the course.

Cost for the program is $125.  The deadline to register is Wednesday.
