Texas A&M football's all-time leading rusher is likely headed to prison after pleading guilty to federal charges related to armed robberies.

The U.S. Attorney's Office told The Dallas Morning News Tuesday that 45-year-old Darren Lewis has agreed to spend between 25 and 30 years behind bars.

The record-setting running back pleaded guilty in April to charges related to the 2012 robberies from DeSoto businesses.

The office says Lewis' accomplice Christopher Washington pleaded guilty Tuesday. It says all sides have agreed to the same sentences for both men. Sentencing is scheduled for September.

Lewis rushed for 5,012 yards while at Texas A&M between 1987-and-1990. He led the Aggies in rushing for three straight seasons. He was drafted in 1991 by the Chicago Bears.
