FORMER A&M FOOTBALL PLAYERS INDICTED
Two former Texas A&M football players have been indicted on robbery charges by a Brazos County grand jury.
19-year old Darian Wayne Claiborne and 20-year old Isaiah Golden were both indicted Thursday for three counts of robbery, a second-degree felony punishable by two to 20 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
Additionally, Claiborne was indicted for possession of a controlled substance.
Claiborne and Golden were dismissed from the A&M football team in June after the pair was arrested for allegedly robbing three men at gunpoint on May 23.
According to police, the three victims had arranged to buy $1,500 worth of marijuana from Claiborne and Golden.
The players met up with the would-be buyers at their residence and and reportedly pulled out a handgun, stealing the $1,500.
Authorities also say one of the victims was struck in the face with the gun.
This really is a shame. These young men could really have made something out of themselves…and now it’s gone.
So sad…….
