FORMER ASTRO PLAYER/MANAGER HOWE TREATED FOR COVID-19
Art Howe, who managed the Houston Astros, Oakland A's and New York Mets after a major league playing career, is hospitalized in intensive care with the coronavirus.
The 73-year old Howe confirmed that he first felt COVID-19 symptoms on May 3 and learned he was positive two days after being tested.
After trying to recover at home, he was transported to a hospital by ambulance Tuesday after his symptoms grew worse, and he remains in the ICU.
In six seasons with the Astros (1976-1982), Howe hit .269 with 39 homers and 266 rbi's, while playing all four infield positions. He was the team's most valuable player in 1981.
