FORMER MILAM CO JAILER ARRESTED FOR THEFT

  

A former Milam County Jail Capt. Is free on bond, after her arrest in connection with the theft of thousands of dollars.

Katrina Douglas was arrested and charged with stealing money from the trust fund in which money is deposited for inmates to use to make commissary purchases.

Douglas was arrested last week in Bell County following an investigation by the Texas Rangers.

She’s charged with theft between $30,000-and-$150,000.

She was released from custody on Christmas Eve after posting a $50,000 bond.

Authorities say the charges against Douglas, who resigned her position last January, stems from the theft of about $36,000 from the Milam County Jail’s inmate trust fund.

Milam County Sheriff David E. Greene said Tuesday, that officials didn’t find out the money was missing until Douglas had left.
