GENEALOGY WORKSHOP AT STAR OF THE REPUBLIC MUSEUM

  

Anyone interested in learning more about the history of Texas, as well as their own personal lineage are invited to a genealogy workshop, October 11th at the Star of the Republic Museum at Washington-on-the-Brazos.

Professional librarian and genealogist Heather Kramer will lead the workshop.

The morning session will focus on the basics of genealogy methods and resources, with an emphasis on the use of the U.S. Census.

In the afternoon, the workshop will look into search strategies and identification of collections on ancestry.com.

The session will close with a look at the top 10 genealogical websites for research.

The workshop will be Saturday, Oct. 11th, from 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. in the park auditorium, located between the museum and the visitor’s center.
