GOODWILL MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH MOVES INTO NEW BUILDING

The new sanctuary under construction in April of this year.

The Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church will hold the first Sunday Service in their new building at the corner of Highway 105 and FM 2193.  Their old sanctuary, located about 6 miles away, was destroyed by flooding in May of 2016.  The church was able to purchase new property on Highway 105 and in February of this year, the Volunteer Christian Builders group began construction on the new sanctuary.  The first service in the new building is scheduled for 10:00 AM Sunday.

The Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church will also install a new pastor Sunday afternoon.  Rev. Kevin Mitchell, who is a teacher at Alton Elementary School, will be installed as the new pastor during a church dedication and pastor installation ceremony Sunday afternoon at 2:30.  For more information about the church, visit goodwillmbcBrenham.com.

  1. That is really cool, it is nice to see this church come back stronger. Congrats on the new building. I wish them the best!

  2. Good for the congregation. I recall the church at the old location & the one prior to the one lost in the flood. I also recall the school across the road, located a little farther west. It won’t seem the same w/o a church there, but I am happy to know they are on higher ground.
