GOV. ABBOTT ISSUES ORDER PROHIBITING GOVERNMENT-MANDATED ‘VACCINE PASSPORTS’

Governor Greg Abbott has issued an executive order prohibiting state agencies or political subdivisions in Texas from creating a “vaccine passport” requirement.

Governor Greg Abbott

Executive Order GA-35 restricts governmental entities from requiring residents to get vaccinated for COVID-19.  It also prohibits organizations that are receiving public funds from requiring consumers to provide documentation of vaccine status in order to receive any service or enter any place.

The order does not limit the ability of nursing homes, state supported living centers, assisted living facilities or long-term care facilities to require documentation of a resident’s vaccination status.

Abbott said the government “should not require any Texan to show proof of vaccination and reveal private health information just to go about their daily lives.”  He said the state will continue to vaccinate residents and protect public health, but will do so “without treading on Texans’ personal freedoms.”

  1. Gotta love how some governments want people to show proof of a vaccine record for access to establishments, but not an ID to vote. The hypocrisy is hysterical!

  2. And ya’ll don’t even worry about it when you go out of state or on a cruise or flight. Ya’ll just tell ’em your from Texas and they’ll just give you a pass. YeeHaw!!

  3. I’m glad the Governor has made this order to prohibit vaccine passports. I for one am not able to take the vaccine due to health reasons. This is so crazy for someone to even think of this. Are they going to start doing this with the Flu injection also, which I am also not able to take. I think like a lot of people this needs to end so we can all get back to our lives.

    1. And thank you Governor DeSantis for setting the example for Governor Abbott to follow.
