A convicted Grimes County sex offender has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.

34-year-old Joseph “JoJo” Reyes pleaded guilty Monday, to aggravated sexual assault of a child and sexual assault of a child.

In November of 2018, the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation into Reyes, who fled the area.

He was eventually apprehended in Kansas.

According to Grimes County District Attorney Courtney Cain, Reyes pleaded guilty to both charges and received a 25-year sentence.  Aggravated sexual assault of a child is first degree felony and sexual assault is a second-degree felony.
