GRIMES COUNTY ENACTS PARTIAL BURN BAN

Officials in Grimes County have enacted a burn ban—but only for a portion of the county.

The area now under a burn ban is the area south of Highway 105 inside the Grimes County limits.

Officials say open burning is no longer allowed inside southern Grimes County.  The also warned residents to be careful with any other activities that could generate a spark.

County-wide burn bans are already in place in Waller, Colorado, Fayette, Lee, Milam, Robertson and Brazos counties.

Officials have not activated burn bans in Washington, Burleson or Austin counties.

The chances for rain increase through the end of next week.
