GRIMES COUNTY TO RECEIVE ADDITIONAL AMBULANCE

Grimes County will receive an additional ambulance for emergency situations.

According to the county’s EMS committee, CHI St. Joseph’s will now have four ambulances, with no additional charge to the county. The ambulance is scheduled to be in service by August 1.

EMS Committee President Chris Kehl said there were still long response times and ambulance positioning with the original three ambulances in the county.  The original agreement with St. Joseph also allowed for one ambulance to be used for both emergency and non-emergency transport, which left just two ambulances for the rest of the county.

The fourth ambulance will be stationed in Navasota and primarily used for transfers, although it will be used for backup with the other ambulances.
